Founded in 2024, Sober Love was born from a personal journey of discovering the challenges of dating while sober.

What started as one person's vision has grown into a platform where authentic connections flourish without the pressure of alcohol.
The Story Behind Sober Love
My journey has been one of love, loss, and transformation. In 2020, I lost my husband Andy to Covid, leaving me and our 12-year-old son in what felt like an endless black hole of grief. The weight of that loss, combined with the challenges of single parenting and running my businesses during a global pandemic, led me to turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism.
For four years, I battled alcoholism, using it as a way to numb the pain and stress. But in 2024, I reached a turning point. I made the life-changing decision to seek help and entered rehabilitation at the Priory. It was there that I began to rebuild my life, embracing sobriety and confronting my fears about dating and love without alcohol.
Through this journey, I realized how difficult it is to navigate the dating world as a sober person. The idea of sober dates, or even sober love, felt daunting. But I also saw the need for a supportive, judgment-free space for people like me, who are on their own journey.
That’s why I created Sober Love. Inspired by the success of my first dating apps, Chapter 2 and WidowsFire which supports widows, I wanted to build a community for sober singles in the UK and USA.
Sober Love isn’t just about finding a partner; it’s about finding a support system, building friendships, and creating a space where sobriety is celebrated, not questioned.
This is my story, a story of resilience, recovery, and hope. And now, I’m turning my personal challenges into a mission to help others find love and connection in a sober world.
